This requires some judgment calls. Not for the best episodes of the season, which were:

“The Best of Both Worlds” and

    “Yesterday’s Enterprise”

    and, nearly as good,

    “Sins of the Father”.

These were all exciting, cinematic, original episodes that pushed the envelope beyond what would have worked (or been affordable) on the original show, and effectively expanded the Star Trek universe. I now have seven candidates which I rated 4 out of 5 stars for the remaining three spots. Let’s go with:

“The Survivors” for giving us a rare effective mystery episode and a good science fiction premise.

“The Offspring”. I actually rated this only a 3.5, but it introduced the possibility of Dark Data in my mind and has just stuck with me. Brent Spiner’s best of the season.

“Tin Man” I just like this one. Like all three of these episodes, it has a great guest star.

Honorable mentions: “The Bonding,” “The Defector,” “Déjà Q,” “The Enemy,” and “The Hunted.”

    The Most Toys

    Sins of The Father

    Booby Trap

    The Defector

    Sarek

    The Hunted

Those are the 6 that stick in my mind off hand..too big a fan to be biased sometimes..Lol

Best of Both Worlds, Sins of the Father, Yesterday’s Enterprise… brilliant episodes, Kev, I have to agree.  Nothing like these in prior seasons IMO.

I have to go with The Defector as the next best, because it has psychological subtlety rarely seen on Trek, and was just heart-wrenching.  It reminds me a little bit of Beckett for some reason… there is something medieval about the Romulan outfits maybe?

Honorable mention to Most Toys for Saul Rubinek (agree Jamie, fantastic villainousness on display here).  Also to “Who Watches the Watchers” for actually exploring the Prime Directive in a semi-rational manner.

BTW, best title definitely goes to “The Ensigns of Command”.  We need more like that!

I happen to love me some Guinan too. 😉

Hahaha! That would probably be Ensign Ro who I’ve heard about at the beginning of the video.

Sometimes these videos are distracting. The Picard Maneuver has me snorting every time he adjusts his shirt–which is constantly!
