This is a side note, but I’ve noticed writing these episode responses that there is no satisfactory verb available for the movement of starships. Boats sail, aiplanes fly, starships…? As in, “The Enterprise _____ to Omnicron VI.” You can use a word like “travels,” but I want better options!

True–what about travelling on impulse power? I’m tempted to invent a word like “flooshes.”

The words I come up with every time I read this sound like I’m describing a man or clothing, not a starship: dashing and zipping. Then the brain kicked in: how about streaming at high speed, or storming through the universe, or bursting through time and space.

Neat! The samples on the website include only one episode from first season, “What Are Little Girls Made Of?”–one of my favorites.
