This is my favorite dialog exhange: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LI NALAS: I&#8217;d die for my people but\u2026  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SISKO: Sure you would. Dying gets you off the hook. Question is, are you willing to live for your people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also like the banter between Kira and Dax:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DAX: (referring to the Palukoo) I suppose you used to make them your pets and sing songs about them around the campfire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KIRA: No, we used to eat them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bajoran fighter is a nice set piece and good special effect work on a budget. Kira and Dax get to do some Han Solo stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Less good: I feel like the stories of Jaro, Vedek Winn, and Vedek Bareil don\u2019t pay off at all. Even the General&#8217;s exit is anticlimatic. Maybe on the page this all seemed more exciting? The way it is shot, it looks like Kira hasn\u2019t even won her argument with the council. Then, later, we hear that she did over a radio broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Li Nalas&#8211;did they kill him just because they realized the role was badly miscast? Killing Li was the obvious, tired move. It would be much more interesting to make him live out the role that he doesn\u2019t want, and to follow the character over future episodes. It&#8217;s important to resist the obvious, like TNG did last week when Geordi failed to save his mother.
